The article characterizes the features of the formation of lexical competence on specially selected language and speech material. A meaningful model of learning organization is presented, focused on the development and integration of lexical skills related to the solution of professional problems. It is concluded that when creating an educational model based on a competency-based approach, the use of professionally oriented educational material contributes to the formation of lexical competence. The result of training should be the formation of skills in the use of the Russian language in professional speech activity.
