Abstract (English):
Introduction. In the modern conditions of development of the state, its reliable protection from both internal and external threats is required. For this, in particular, it is necessary to train highly qualified employees for the internal affairs bodies. They must be able to effectively solve problems in the field of public order protection, ready for continuous professional development and self-improvement. This is also stated in the National Security Strategy of the Russian Federation. Such a specialist must be able to predict the development of events, the behavior of persons of operational interest, and also foresee the result of his activities. At the same time, he must be able, based on the developed forecast, to find the most optimal solutions for solving the problems facing the internal affairs bodies in combating crime. The above skills are elements of such a competence as professional forecasting. In this regard, the formation of a culture of professional forecasting is one of the main tasks of the professional training system of employees of the internal affairs bodies. Methods. The study used the general scientific dialectical method of cognition of the surrounding reality. In addition, the description method was used. Methods of logical understanding, analysis, classification and generalization allowed us to systematize the facts we established and give them interpretation. Results. According to the author of the article, the culture of professional forecasting is an integral part of the professional culture of employees of the internal affairs bodies. The essence of professional forecasting is to establish the probability of any event, phenomenon in the future and to assess the validity of making a decision proposed in this regard. The culture of professional forecasting provides opportunities for self-realization of the subject in the process of implementing professional activities, combining a system of values, professional orientations and significant personal qualities. The culture of professional forecasting includes motivational, activity and thinking components, each of which is represented by the corresponding prognostic skills that form a single whole and contribute to the development of professional skills of an employee of the internal affairs bodies.
