The article discusses the features of counteracting a destructive worldview among cadets of educational organizations of the Ministry of Interior of Russia through the education of patriotism. The patriotic norm is presented as a standard of education that must be followed in order to avoid the formation of a destructive worldview among police officers. It is concluded that students need to develop a conscious attitude towards patriotism as a modern Russian national spiritual idea. This requires revealing the specifics of the formation of a sense of patriotism and citizenship in the context of the formation of national identity.
