Abstract:
Annotation. Introduction. The Russian Federation, as a modern sovereign state, systematically improves the standards of higher professional education in general and in the teaching of historical disciplines in particular. This is especially relevant in the current tense geopolitical situation, which determines the importance of developing a strong civic position in students. This article presents the results of a study of changes in the requirements for the teaching of historical disciplines in law schools. Primary attention is paid to the patriotic education of personnel. Its key elements include an objective examination of historical subjects, the development of students' understanding of the continuity of all stages of societal development, justice as the basis of relationships, and the importance of preserving traditional values. However, the inertia of the educational system and its focus on Western models pose serious challenges to the development of Russian higher education, including in terms of the teaching of historical disciplines. Overcoming negative trends and achieving the goals set by the state for law schools is impossible without significant adjustments by the academic staff of educational institutions. Methods. The study utilized general scientific methods (analysis, synthesis, generalization of experience, etc.) and specific scientific methods (observation, survey, testing, historical genetics, etc.). Results. Solutions to several problems related to history teaching are proposed by revising the content of the disciplines and combining them into a single module. This approach will facilitate the full implementation of government guidelines for improving the teaching of history disciplines in law schools.
