Abstract (English):
Introduction.Quadrobing as a form of physical activity emerged relatively recently - about 25 years ago. Japan is considered to be its birthplace. Initially, quadrobing was a type of sports training based on imitation of animal movements. However, later, quadrobing followers developed their own subculture, which changed the meaning of this activity and introduced destructive elements into it. Methods. In the course of the study conducted by the authors of the article, the general scientific dialectical method of cognition of the surrounding reality was used. In addition, the methods of description, logical comprehension, abstraction and generalization were used. Results. In Russia, a noticeable increase in the popularity of quadrobing among children and adolescents occurred in the spring of 2024. Young people perceived the new subculture as an opportunity for self-identification, non-standard self-expression through specific costumes and actions. In turn, psychologists associated the spread of this subculture with negative socio-cultural foreign influence, as well as with problems of socialization in children. The passion for quadrobing without the appropriate physical training has led to an increase in the level of injuries among minors who are into it, and the aggressive rejection of this hobby by those around them has led to the isolation and detachment of such children and teenagers. In response to the rejection of their subculture by society, quadrobershave begun to commit acts that violate public order, justifying such actions by imitating the behavior of animals. In this regard, the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation proposed recognizing the quadrobing subculture as destructive, placing it on a par with «death groups», «childfree», etc., announcing the development of a bill aimed at counteracting its spread.
