The article raises the problem of developing criteria for assessing the sufficiency of evidence within the framework of pre-trial criminal proceedings. It is noted that neither legislative nor uniform doctrinal definition of such criteria exists. Various scientific approaches to this problem are analyzed. The author's conclusion about the criteria for assessing the sufficiency of evidence is formulated.
