The article reveals the concepts of euthanasia and iatrogenic crime. A comparative analysis of these legal phenomena is carried out. Their similarity is emphasized in terms of the mechanism for the implementation of the act of a medical worker, leading to the death of a patient, and a number of signs of a criminal law characteristic. Their fundamental difference is revealed: euthanasia is committed only with direct intent, and iatrogenic crimes - only through negligence and cannot be committed with intent. The possibility of incorrect qualification of a crime committed by a medical worker in the performance of his professional duties, which resulted in the death of a patient, is indicated.
