The article examines the content of the concept of «green» economy in the context of other teachings about the interaction of nature and society, including the concepts of sustainable development and circular economy. It is noted that the closest connection can be traced with the concept of sustainable development. It is proved that the concept of a «green» economy is a tool (means) for achieving the goals and objectives of the transition to sustainable development, which raises the problem of the relationship between the criteria and indicators of sustainable development and the «green» economy. The concept of a «green» economy has an equally close connection with the theory of a circular economy, focused on recycling waste and eliminating excess consumption. Accordingly, the circular economy is one of the conditions for achieving the goals of the green economy. These concepts are regulated by Russian law with varying degrees of detail. These norms require clarification and addition.
