Abstract:
The article presents some results of a study of law enforcement activities of special purpose units of the penal system. Service in these units involves the need to use service firearms in the fight against crime, as well as during special operations. Data from a survey of penitentiary system employees are presented, according to which most often, when answering the question about factors or conditions conducive to the legal use of service weapons, respondents pointed to legal factors (conditions). Accordingly, the scientific result of the study conducted by the authors is the specification of the legal circumstances of the legal use of weapons by employees of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia.
