Abstract:
The article discusses issues related to the concept of a civil defendant in criminal proceedings. At the same time, considerable attention is paid to the need to involve the accused as a civil defendant. It is noted that if the accused himself bears civil liability for the consequences of a criminal act, then he should not be given the special status of a civil defendant, since he has sufficient rights to defend against the claim.
