Abstract:
At the Saint-Petersburg University of the Ministry of the Interior of Russia on June 9-10, 2023, the annual scientific and practical conference «Criminal Legislation: Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow» was held. This year for the first time - in international status. At the conference, topical issues of the state of criminal legislation, the practice of its application and the science of criminal law were discussed. The conference was attended by 86 representatives of 38 scientific and educational organizations, including 21 doctors of science, 50 candidates of science, 8 employees of territorial internal affairs bodies of the Russian Federation. At the plenary session, attention was drawn to the issues of training scientific and scientific-pedagogical personnel in postgraduate (postgraduate) programs during the period of unification of scientific specialties, features of taking into account the provisions of criminal procedural legislation when reforming criminal legislation, the specifics of criminology of a postmodern society, features of criminal policy in the area of responsibility for crimes against military service, the current state of social protection measures in criminal legislation, etc. During the work of the sections, the problems of applying certain norms of the General and Special Parts of Criminal Law and promising directions for improving criminal legislation and law enforcement practice were considered.
