From the point of view of law enforcement practice, the article examines the state of Russian legislation in the field of operational investigative counteraction by operational units of internal affairs bodies to the illicit trafficking of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and their analogues, as well as new potentially dangerous psychoactive substances. Attention is focused on preventive measures implemented to prevent crimes of this type committed using remote forms of communication. Problems of a regulatory nature have been identified that affect the organizational and tactical features of conducting operational investigative activities in identifying, suppressing and solving crimes related to the sale of drugs in conditions of active use by criminals of modern Internet technologies.
