Abstract (English):
Introduction. The article presents the results of a study that included a retrospective analysis of the improvement of the configuration of standardized forensic suitcases designed to provide comprehensive technical and forensic support for investigative actions. The authors examined the influence of scientific and technological progress, the evolution of forensic science and forensic examination, the specifics of the formation of research and forensic units in internal affairs agencies, as well as organizational, legal and methodological provisions governing the use of technical and forensic equipment, on the elemental composition of forensic (investigative) suitcases. Methods. The study utilized a comprehensive combination of general scientific, specific scientific and specialized methods, which made it possible to identify the main historical periods and patterns of improvement in the configuration of standardized technical and forensic equipment designed to recover traces of crimes, as well as the specifics of their modernization depending on the specific tasks of law enforcement agencies and the conditions of use. Results. The authors conclude that, as approaches to the packaging of standardized forensic suitcases evolved, consistent trends emerged toward the adoption of uniform regulatory and methodological requirements within internal affairs agencies and the development of scientific recommendations for improving their designs and packaging. Identifying historical periods of transformation in approaches to the packaging of standardized forensic suitcases with specialized equipment made it possible to identify key patterns in their modernization. According to the authors, this creates a theoretical basis for formulating specific, scientifically sound, and practice-oriented proposals for further optimization of forensic suitcase contents, as well as for developing promising design solutions.
